MBP stands for Master Balloon Professional. It refers to an individual who has obtained certification from Sempertex, for their expertise in the art of balloon decoration. To achieve this designation, they have successfully completed the recognition program based on the decoration standards set by the company.
How can I obtain the MBP certification?
To obtain the MBP certification, you need to pass a practical exam that is conducted on specific dates. The process of obtaining the certification is as following:
- Go to www.sempertexeurope.com > Education > MBP
- Choose one of the scheduled exam dates that are available.
- Add the exam product to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout and make the payment for the exam. Once we receive your payment, we will officially register you as an MBP participant with Sempertex.
- After completing the payment and registration, you will receive an email containing all the necessary information regarding the upcoming exam. This email will provide you with details about the exam date, time, location, and any additional instructions you may need to know.

Our Evaluation Process
The practical exam consists of the evaluation of the following criteria:
1. Unleash Your Creativity
You create two designs, these designs will be evaluated. Bring your balloons for your designs on the day of the exam, ensuring that each design incorporates a minimum of three sizes of Sempertex balloons. During the evaluation, each participant will present their designs, explaining the theme and potential applications within an event.
- Centerpiece (Maximum score: 15 points)
- Personal design (Maximum score: 15 points)
Total time allocated for designing: Maximum 1 hour
*Evaluation Points: 30 points in total
2. Judges' Choice Decor Challenge
In this challenge, you will be tasked with creating balloon deisngs in real-time using the balloons provided by Sempertex.
- Column in 5 or 6 balloon clusters (Maximum score: 20 points)
- Design with the Link-O-Loon® Crossweave technique (Maximum score: 20 points)
- Organic Design (Maximum score: 20 points)
Total time allocated for designing: Maximum 1 hour and a half.
*Evaluation Points: A total of 60 points will be awarded for the designs.
3. Mastering Balloon Tools
Your proficiency in handling essential tools such as the inflator, gauge, valve, balloon sizers, and helium tanks will be evaluated. Show your understanding of their proper usage and safety protocols.
*Evaluation Points: A total of 10 points will be awarded.
- It is essential to arrive 30 minutes before the exam.
- The jury evaluates under the standards defined by Sempertex.
- To obtain recognition, the participant must pass the exam with a minimum of 85 points.
